Six people shot -- one fatally -- in shooting at high school in Washington state: report

One person has died and five other people have been shot in a shooting that took place at the Freeman High School in Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday.

The Spokane Spokesman-Review reports that six people were shot at the high school, including one person who subsequently died.

Local news station KXLY reports that all Spokane South Hill Schools have been placed on lock down due to the shooting.

KXLY reporter Melissa Luck reports that the shooting suspect has been taken into custody. She also reports that a student was the person who was fatally shot by the suspect.

The Spokane Sheriff Office says that it officers within the high school are going through every room within the high school searching for additional potential shooting victims.
