CNN media critic and "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stelter said that there is a "racial component" to President Donald Trump's attacks on sports figures like Colin Kaepernick and ESPN host Jemele Hill, even though Trump and his supporters deny it.

On Friday night, Trump lashed out at Kaepernick and other players who protest the U.S. National Anthem -- which contains references in verse 3 to the killing and recapture of escaped slaves -- and said that the players' team owners should "get that son-of-a-b*tch off the field."

Stelter pointed out that Trump and his administration have now picked fights with Steph Curry and Kaepernick and called for ESPN's Hill to be fired -- and that all of these people are black.

“There’s an unmistakable racial component to this that is uncomfortable to talk about but is obvious," he said.
