President Donald Trump sent out a couple of tweets Wednesday morning about Hurricane Irma, which is still gathering unprecedented strength as it approaches landfall -- and social media users slammed his apparent flippancy.

The president said he was watching the situation closely and boasted that his team, which did "such a good job in Texas," was already in Florida.

"No rest for the weary!" Trump tweeted, and then expressed amazement at the hurricane's size.

Other Twitter users were aghast at the president's reaction to the potentially devastating storm.
