‘They’re working together as a team!’ Fox & Friends gush over Trump’s reported DACA deal with Dems
If you thought Fox & Friends would be upset at President Donald Trump’s reported decision to sign off on the DREAM Act without insisting on funding for a border wall, you’d be mistaken.
On Thursday morning, the hosts of Fox News’s morning show heaped praise on Trump for his decision to invite Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to dinner to discuss a deal that would grant legal status to undocumented immigrants who were brought into the United States as children.
“The president’s running more in a way in which he ran his company,” said co-host Brian Kilmeade. “He’s bringing people together. When you do a deal, it doesn’t necessarily have to be, ‘I win, you lose.’ And that’s what the president has always been about.”
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt similarly said that Trump was wise to go through the Democrats to get a deal done because that was the only way he could have so easily gotten relief for Hurricane Harvey through without having to deal with the headaches of going through Congressional Republicans.
“It looks good that they’re working together as a team!” she said. “It makes Republicans in Congress look really bad, however.”
