Despite protesters flooding the UC Berkeley campus, Ben Shapiro was scheduled to speak at 10 p.m EST.
Prior to the speech, riot police braced for possible violence like the protests seen prior to the Milo Yiannopoulos earlier in the year, according to Fox. Already, six buildings on campus were shut down and large concrete blocks were placed in the road to protect protesters from drivers possibly driving into crowds. Similarly, a huge perimeter was set up around and measures were taken to protect the school’s administrative staff, who left campus two hours early.
