Daycare owner strikes back at racists who criticized their employee as ‘too dark’: ‘This is not going to divide us’
Last week, a daycare center in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley received an anonymous letter criticizing them for hiring a black woman the writer deemed “too dark.” The alleged parent claimed they wanted to help the center “MAKE YOUR DAYCARE GREAT AGAIN.”
Now, the owner of Whitehall Township’s Bridge 2 Creative Learning Center has spoken out in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“My staff isn’t leaving,” owner Dominique McKelley told the Inquirer. “We will all stand together. This is not OK and this is not going to divide us. That’s what makes us who we are.”
“This is about threatening my business by bullying me into getting rid of an awesome employee because she is darker than someone cares for,” McKelley wrote on Facebook.
