Man threatens Vegas-style massacre in Texas: ‘No one making fun of me after this’
A Texas man was arrested this week after he threatened to carry out a Las Vegas-style massacre of civilians in San Antonio.
Local news station KSAT reports that 39-year-old Roderick Lamar Robinson this week was arrested by police in Oklahoma City after the San Antonio Police Department warned them that Robinson had written a homicidal Facebook rant in which he threatened to kill multiple people in the city.
Robinson’s rant seems to have been triggered by someone “messing up” his front yard. Responding to this purported vandalism, Robinson threatened to return home from Oklahoma City to San Antonio to kill people in retaliation.
“I’m going to kill a lot of folks at the San Antonio strip,” he wrote. “Just bought me a gun with a lot of rounds in it so get ready, won’t no one me (sic) making fun of me after this.”
Local residents saw Robinson’s post and quickly alerted local law enforcement officials about the threat.
“SAPD was made aware of the threats posted to social media and investigated the information,” the San Antonio Police Department explains. “We took precautionary measures to include notifying the businesses in the affected area and implementing additional security measures to ensure public safety. The suspect was arrested last night.”
Robinson faces charges of making terroristic threats against the public.
