Appearing on a panel discussion over President Donald Trump's tacit endorsement of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, who has been accused to sexually molesting teens, a campaign adviser to the president flatly stated that Trump is making a big mistake not calling on Moore to step aside.
Sunday morning, Trump tweeted, "The last thing we need in Alabama and the U.S. Senate is a Schumer/Pelosi puppet who is WEAK on Crime, WEAK on the Border, Bad for our Military and our great Vets, Bad for our 2nd Amendment, AND WANTS TO RAISES TAXES TO THE SKY. Jones would be a disaster!"
According to David Urban who helped Trump get elected, the president is flat out wrong.
"David Urban, you helped get President Trump elected in the state of Alabama. Do you think this push is a good one?" host Dana Bash asked.
"I think the only thing worse than Doug Jones is Roy Moore," Urban bluntly stated. "I think it will be a disaster for the midterms and the members of the party will continue to try to move and separate itself from him. I think what he's alleged to have done, still obviously alleged to have done, will have to be proved in a court of law but this is a political contest. This is politics."
"When you're explaining, you're losing," he lectured. "I think this is a loser for the Republican Party. I think that the governor should have postponed the election and it's well within our purview to do so and can solve it very quickly."
