JetBlue facing boycott after breaking pledge and donating to Republican who tried to overturn election

This week, JetBlue, one of the companies that made a pledge to stop contributing money to Republican lawmakers involved in the effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election, quietly went back on that promise, Bloomberg Government reported.
"A $1,000 contribution from the airline's corporate political action committee to Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) was listed in the report filed with the Federal Election Commission on April 5. Malliotakis was among nearly 150 lawmakers who objected to the Electoral College vote certification on Jan. 6," reported Kenneth Doyle and Megan Wilson. "No other corporate PAC that announced a pause is believed to have reported a donation directly to a lawmaker who objected to the certification of President Joe Biden's election."
<p>Malliotakis, for her part, has sought to <a href="https://malliotakis.house.gov/media/in-the-news/malliotakis-my-objective-was-not-overturn-election" target="_blank">walk back her vote</a> and argue that it wasn't really a vote to overturn the election.</p><p>Following the report, JetBlue triggered an explosion of outrage, with commenters on social media vowing to boycott the budget airline.</p>

As of Thursday afternoon, authorities are searching for a suspect after six people were shot at a cabinet factory in Bryan, Texas, according to KBTX.
"There is still an active police situation off FM 2818 at Stone City Drive as law enforcement responds to the scene. Sources tell KBTX that more than six people were injured, and several are in critical condition," reported Adrienne DeMoss. "Jane Long Intermediate School was temporarily under a perimeter seal, but students were released to parents around normal dismissal time. Parents of students who walk home are asked to pick up their child at the school."

The Department of Justice on Thursday announced more charges against a family of Trump supporters who allegedly participated in the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
"Kevin Seefried, who was photographed carrying a Confederate flag in the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots in Washington, has been indicted by a grand jury on five counts related to obstruction, entering restricted property and disorderly conduct," CNBC reported Thursday. "Seefried's son, Hunter Seefried, was also indicted. The younger Seefried faces the same five counts as his father in addition to three charges related to destruction of government property and violence on Capitol grounds."
<p>Both men are residents of Delaware, which fought against the Confederacy during the Civil War.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
