The Senate is expected to approve a measure that would end the U.S. government shutdown that began on Saturday.


Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has scheduled a vote on a short-term funding extension. According to the Associated Press, Democrats have aligned "behind [a] plan to temporarily fund the government and end [the] shutdown, predict it will pass in the Senate."
