On Monday afternoon, Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley (R) tweeted President Donald Trump that his state “would love to host” his infamous military parade.
.@realDonaldTrump, we would love to host the military parade in Missouri. The politicians in D.C. are wrong. Our military and veterans deserve to be honored.

Many Missourians, however, aren’t having it.
“You want to honor the troops, Mr. Attorney General?” Afghan War veteran and St. Louisan Mark Osmack tweeted, suggesting that Hawley help end overseas wars, enlist himself and “stop flattering” a man who was deferred repeatedly from the draft.
You want to honor the troops, Mr. Attorney General?
1. End the Iraq and Afghanistan wars
2. Stop flattering someone who had 5x deferments
3. Join. Here you go! I joined as an Artillery Officer. You can enter as JAGhttps://t.co/rNGZd43DLF https://t.co/riHEp5fouR

“There’s lot of corruption to investigate in Missouri,” religious journalist Brian Kaylor tweeted, “but our AG instead is trying to host an undemocratic military parade to stoke a ruler’s ego?”

Ah, no, we wouldn't. This is 21st century America, we don't need a military parade to honor the military and veterans… https://t.co/lRKHFPZDW4

Josh, important work is being done at Fort Leonard Wood and Whiteman AFB. They don’t have time to put it aside for 2 weeks to practice drill and ceremony. You want someone to perform for you, buy a ticket to a play. https://t.co/5wbm9OTSkq

Too many of our fellow Missourians have real needs; you should be embarrassed to suggest wasting money on a political spectacle. Totally out of touch with the people you hope to represent. https://t.co/9bY8KKv8UX
