Police respond to active shooter situation

A hostage situation Friday in the Bay Area at a veterans home for soldiers of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars has ended with three hostages and the gunman dead.

"All four bodies were found inside a room of the Pathway Home," Fox News reported.

The "active shooter situation" lasted for hours, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the dinning hall. Deputies exchanged gunfire, who used a rifle to shoot back.

The Veterans Home of California in Napa County is reportedly the largest in the United States.
