Defense Department employees spent upwards of $140,000 at Trump-branded properties in the first eighth months of President Donald Trump's administration, a new CNN report reveals.

Upon reviewing records, CNN learned that DoD employees stayed at Trump properties from Hawaii to D.C. and spent roughly $138,000 doing so.

The charges to the properties were made with DoD-issued credit cards, CNN noted, and once again raise concerns that official stays at Trump-owned hotels may violate the emoluments clause, a constitutional provision that bars presidents profiting from the office.
