An off-duty border patrol agent was arrested this week in California after being found asleep in a pickup truck that contained heroin and an illegal rifle.

The Associated Press reported that agent U.S. Border Patrol agent Brandon Herrera found sleeping in his truck outside an apartment complex in Oceanside, California after someone called the police about "a suspicious person outside the apartment building."

When they searched the vehicle, police found heroin and an unregistered rifle. Herrera identified himself as Border Patrol agent at the time of his arrest, and has since been placed on administrative leave.
