Ninth-grader turns the tables on a bully who tried to shame her as a ‘disgusting slut’

A ninth-grader turned the tables on a bully by printing his hateful taunt on a T-shirt and wearing it to school.

Kailey Kukkola said teachers and administrators at her high school in Prince George, British Columbia, have been supportive of her demonstration despite a profane slur on her shirt, reported Global News.

Someone sent a photo to Kailey's mother that showed insulting message scrawled on a girls' bathroom wall at College Heights High.

"Kailey Kukkola is a disgusting flat, ugly slut," the graffiti read.

The girl admits the message "kind of stung," but she decided she would show the bully she wouldn't back down -- so she had the photo printed on a pink T-shirt, matching the tile on the bathroom wall, and wore it to class.

“I just walked into class and one of my teachers just didn’t get the whole thing so I had to explain to her,” Kailey said, adding that she also had to explain the shirt to the principal.

Kailey isn't sure who wrote the message, but she said teachers and administrators have asked her to join the school's peer leadership team.

“They’re really supportive, and they always say, ‘Oh that’s so cool! I’m so proud of you,'" Kailey said. “I just thought I would just get in trouble from this shirt and [the teachers] were like, ‘No that’s actually a really good idea,’ so that was cool."

She encouraged other students to "speak up" if they face bullying.

“If you have something happen to you, tell someone and just wear it on your sleeve -- because those words don’t define you," Kailey said.
