President Donald Trump is reportedly worried about being impeached.

A source tells CNN's Jim Acosta that Trump now sees impeachment as a "real possibility" when Democrats take over the House of Representatives next month.

A separate source tells Acosta that White House aides are worried about the president being implicated in a felony campaign finance violation by former "fixer" Michael Cohen, who admitted breaking the law at Trump's direction when he paid off adult film star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal in exchange for their silence about affairs they'd had with the president.

However, White House sources are telling Acosta they're still confident special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation won't prove the Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the 2016 presidential election, and they don't believe a felony campaign finance violation alone will be enough to get Trump convicted in the Senate.

"These beliefs about the politics at play in impeachment proceedings are based on what White House officials believe Mueller has on Trump right now," Acosta writes.

"It's still unclear exactly where else the special counsel's probe could go."
