Fox News personality Tucker Carlson's far-right website was shunned on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) repeatedly described the Daily Caller website as "trash" while refusing to answer questions from the far-right internet site.
Menendez is quite familiar with the site, after it was revealed a woman was paid to say she was a prostitute while making allegations against the New Jersey Democrat. Rachel Maddow slammed the publication as a "weird fake channel in our news media" for running the story.
That was not the Daily Caller's only major scandal.
Just last week, Daily Caller reporter Amber Athey was exposed for anti-Semitism.
Henry Rodgers, a Daily Caller reporter, complained on Wednesday about being frozen-out by the senator due to his publication's history.
"Not interested. I have nothing to say to the Daily Caller. You're trash," Menendez reportedly told him. "I won't answer questions to the Daily Caller, period!"
"You're trash!" Menendez reportedly repeated.
