Former FBI Director James Comey suggested on Thursday that President Donald Trump is doing more to undermine the United States than Russia is doing.
While speaking at the Hewlett Foundation’s Verify Conference, Comey was asked about the impact of Russia's interference in the 2016 election.
"The truth is a real thing," he noted.
Commenting on the erosion of truth in the U.S., Comey said: "My mind doesn’t even go to Russia first, it goes to the president of the United States.”
The former FBI director also said that he had "absolutely no idea" what Attorney General William Barr was talking about when he accused the FBI of "spying" on the Trump 2016 campaign.
