Former Secretary of State John Kerry offered his response to a bizarre situation that unfolded while he was testifying before the House of Representatives.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) questioned Kerry, which Rolling Stone wrote about under the headline, "Is This the Dumbest Moment in Congressional History?"
"Isn’t it true you have a science degree from Yale?" Massie asked.
"Bachelor of arts degree," Kerry corrected.
"Is it a political science degree?" Massie asked.
"Yes, political science," Kerry answered.
"So how do you get a bachelor of arts, in a science?" Massie actually asked, as CSPAN cameras captured the moment.
"Well it’s a liberal arts education and degree," Kerry attempted to explain.
"OK. So it’s not really science. So I think it’s somewhat appropriate that someone with a pseudo-science degree is here pushing pseudo-science in front of our committee today," Massie argued.
Kerry took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the incident.
"It's almost as if someone said 'Congress has hit rock bottom' and Massie replies with 'hold my beer,'" Kerry posted.
