President Donald Trump on Tuesday paid tribute to veterans who were captured while fighting to serve their country -- and he promptly got slapped down by "The View's" Meghan McCain.
In a Tuesday morning tweet, the president wrote that "we honor the Americans captured and imprisoned by foreign powers while carrying out their duties to defend this great Nation."

However, Trump in 2015 infamously mocked the late Sen. John McCain for being a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War.
"He’s not a war hero," Trump said of the senator. "He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured."
Meghan McCain, upon seeing Trump's tweet, immediately called B.S. on him.
"No one believes you care about prisoners of war and 'people who get captured,'" she wrote.

Trump has regularly continued to attack McCain even after he died last summer -- and last month, he even called the late Arizona Republican "disgraceful."
