Trump called it 'a total disgrace' when Obama used Air Force One for election campaigning. Guess what the president is doing now

In the past, President Donald Trump was vehemently critical of his predecessor, President Barack Obama, for using Air Force One for election campaigning. But Trump has been doing the same thing in 2019, USA Today is reporting.

In 2016, Trump tweeted, “Taxpayers are paying a fortune for the use of Air Force One on the campaign trail by President Obama and Crooked Hillary. A total disgrace!"

But earlier this month, according to USA Today, Trump used Air Force One to get to a campaign rally in Pennsylvania — a swing state that Trump won in 2016 and is hoping to win again in 2020. And he has also used Air Force One to travel to campaign-related events in Florida, another important swing state.

The use of Air Force One for campaigning — in addition to official government business — has not been uncommon among U.S. presidents. And it didn’t start with Obama. In the 2000s, for example, President George W. Bush also used Air Force One for campaigning.
