Trump wishes Israel's military 'best of luck' in followup to Hezbollah praise

Donald Trump has drawn flak for his comments on the Israel attack by Hamas, and he made an apparent attempt to walk those back with a brief post on his social media platform Friday.

The former president blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and praised Hezbollah as "very smart," drawing criticism from Democrats and Republicans alike and potentially hurting himself with evangelical voters.

He responded by taking to Truth Social to praise the Israel Defense Force as it bombards Gaza.

"I have always been impressed by the skill and determination of the Israeli Defence Forces," Trump posted, lightly misspelling the name of the national military. "As they defend their Nation against ruthless terrorists, I want to wish every soldier the best of luck. May you return home safely to your families, and may God bless you all!"

It's not clear whether Trump or a staffer wrote the message of encouragement, but his team has sent out multiple press releases attempting to clean up his previous remarks on the Middle East.
