WATCH: Military leader goes viral for his ‘beautiful’ takedown of Tucker Carlson

Senior members of the U.S. military are taking aim at Fox News host Tucker Carlson after he ran a segment disparaging women in the military.

"So we've got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits," Carlson said. "Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It's a mockery of the U.S. military."

One of those calling out Carlson is Command Senior Enlisted Leader of United States Space Command, Scott H. Stalker, who posted a video to Twitter that has since gone viral.

Stalker started out by saying he doesn't watch much cable news, but Carlson's opinion "is based off of exactly zero days of service in the Armed Forces" as opposed to Stalker's 28 years of service.

"And so [Carlson] was talking specifically about pregnant women in the Armed Forces today, and how it makes us less lethal and less fit and less ready -- let me tell you where he's wrong," Stalker said. "Those decisions were made by medical professionals and commanders and our civilian leadership that allows women to have more time with their children, to recuperate, to get fit and ready, to take that time that is necessary that our medical professionals know that is needed, which actually makes us a more lethal, and ready, and fit force."

Stalker's video quickly accumulated more than a quarter of a million views on Twitter.

"Thank you! I had two boys while serving proudly in the US NAVY for 22 years. Your leadership is important," one user wrote in response to his remarks.

"This is beautiful," wrote another.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Thursday that Defense Department Secretary Lloyd Austin and other top officers shared deep "revulsion" over Carlson's comments, which accused President Joe Biden of making US defense forces "more feminine."

Carlson "essentially demeaned the entire US military and how we defend and how we serve this country," Kirby told reporters.

"The diversity of our military is one of our greatest strengths," said Kirby.

"What we absolutely won't do is take personnel advice from a talk show host, or the Chinese military," he said.

Women constitute about 17 percent of the 1.3 million active duty forces, serving in nearly every type of job, Kirby noted, including flying jets and commanding ships.
