President Donald Trump is now threatening to go absolutely nuclear in his trade war against China.
In an interview with CNBC, Trump says that he's "ready" the slap tariffs on every single good imported to the United States from China, which would in effect mean a tax on $505.5 billion worth of goods.
"I'm not doing this for politics, I'm doing this to do the right thing for our country," Trump told CNBC. "We have been ripped off by China for a long time."
So far, Trump's trade war with China has been comparatively small, as he's only hit $34 billion worth of Chinese goods -- specifically, its steel and aluminum -- with tariffs.
Even as Trump threatened to hit all of China's exports to the United States with tariffs, he insisted to CNBC that it was nothing personal.
"I don't want them to be scared, I want them to do well," he said. "I really like President Xi a lot, but it was very unfair."
