WATCH: HBO's Bill Maher brutally destroys the GOP as the 'party of the insane'

HBO's Bill Maher took more than a few shots at former Starbuck's CEO Howard Schultz on Friday for claiming that both the Democrats and the Republicans are to blame for the state of the country -- bluntly stating it begins and ends with the GOP.

"Instead of saying both parties are to blame for the mess we're in, just admit that you haven't followed politics for the last 20 years," he began.

"I'm not here to pick on Howard, because I don't believe in kicking billionaires when they're down ... But this idea of a pox on both of their houses is just factually wrong."

“Both parties are not extreme,” explained Maher using a Venn diagram show a perfect circle for "insane" and "Republicans."

“It’s a stupid person’s idea of a smart thing to say,” he added. “It’s a cheat that says you’re above it all when you’re really just too lazy to tell shit from Shinola.”
