On Thursday, NBC News reported that four California police officers are on leave and under investigation after a video showed them punching and kicking a man in a Glendale mall, while three of them were in plainclothes.

"The Glendale police officers, who have not been publicly identified, have been placed on paid leave, the department said. The arrest Saturday at the Los Angeles-area Galleria Mall included three officers who were in plain clothes," reported Antonio Planas and Mohammed Syed. "The short video, which appears to have been filmed by a witness, shows two men in street clothes repeatedly punching a suspect on the ground. Onlookers can be heard in the background, but do not appear on camera."

No details have been released on the identity of the suspect or the details that led up to the confrontation.

In a statement reported by KCAL9, the Glendale Police Department said that, "we have initiated a full investigation to determine all of the facts.
