WATCH: The Lincoln Project slams Fox News in scathing new ad

The Lincoln Project is out with a new ad pointing to Fox as a key reason for the pandemic of unvaccinated Americans.

Former President Donald Trump and his pal Bill O'Reilly are traveling around the United States together and speaking to embarrassingly sparse crowds. But those who were there heard O'Reilly and Trump explain that they were not only vaccinated but boosted as well. It drew boos from the crowd, which is due, in part, to Trump and his allies on the Fox networks.

The Lincoln Project video explained that the network has officially become a danger to public health while it continues to promote false information. Prime-time hosts like Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham have questioned the validity of the virus and now the vaccine's usefulness. Carlson hosted one show where he said that thousands of people died after getting the COVID vaccine, making it seem as if the vaccine was the cause of their death. The truth is that those numbers were taken from the early days of the virus when the first people getting the vaccine were those with compromised immune systems, people who were dying of cancer and the elderly.

The Washington Post wrote in June that the Fox networks may have kept millions of Americans from getting vaccinated by dangerously duping their own viewers.

"Those who relied on mainstream sources — the network evening newscasts or national newspapers that President Trump constantly blasts as 'fake news' — got an accurate assessment of the pandemic's risks. Those were the news consumers who were more likely to respond accordingly, protecting themselves and others against the disease," said the report.

But when it came to those who relied on Fox for news "or radio personality Rush Limbaugh, came to believe that vitamin C was a possible remedy, that the Chinese government created the virus in a lab, and that government health agencies were exaggerating the dangers in the hopes of damaging Trump politically," the report said.

The Lincoln Project asks if Fox owner Rupert Murdoch is trying to kill Americans. The ad explains that people dying from COVID are almost entirely unvaccinated. At the same time, Murdoch is vaccinated, and so are his employees. In fact, this week, the New York Fox offices refused to allow people to use tests to gain access to the building. Staff must all now be vaccinated.

The Lincoln Project closes the ad urging its followers, saying that the only way to stop the network is to call cable carriers and tell them to remove the network for their channel options.
