Megyn Kelly tries to dispute Pete Buttigieg as first openly gay Cabinet member — and it doesn't end well

On Tuesday, former South Bend, Indiana Mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was confirmed to be Secretary of Transportation, becoming the first openly gay man to be confirmed to a Cabinet role.

But former Fox News and NBC commentator Megyn Kelly — who became infamous for her bizarre insistence that Jesus and Santa Claus are white — took issue with this characterization, demanding that the credit actually go to former President Donald Trump for appointing Richard Grenell to the top intelligence post.

Kelly is not correct, however. While Grenell did briefly carry out the duties of Director of National Intelligence, he only served in an acting capacity — he was never confirmed by the Senate and never formally took a Cabinet position.

Commenters on social media swiftly mocked Kelly for her confusion.
