Former Fox host who said Santa Claus is white calls Colin Kaepernick a racist

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly -- who infamously declared Santa Claus is white -- freaked out over former NFL star Colin Kaepernick's comments on racism.

The former pro quarterback, who has essentially been blackballed by the league since silently protesting systemic racism at the start of games, compared the NFL draft process to slavery in his new Netflix limited series, Colin in Black & White, and Kelly lashed out, reported Newsweek.

"Colin Kaepernick ... he's insane," she said on The Megyn Kelly Show, which airs on SiriusXM. "This is a racist guy. He really is a racist guy and he hates our country. He hates America. It's just another day that Netflix gives this guy his own special, and I'm like, 'Well, I guess it's going to be about how racist America is.' Turns out it's how racist Colin Kaepernick is."

"Who made him show up to the NFL Combine?" Kelly added. "To compare that willing and usually dream come true moment for an NFL football player to slavery? How does this wind up on Netflix?"

Kaepernick isn't the first person to compare the NFL Combine, where prospects are publicly weighed, measured and tested for a variety of characteristics, to slave auctions, but his comments have ignited a firestorm from conservatives already angry at him for kneeling during the National Anthem to protest police brutality and historical racism.

"What they don't want you to understand is what's being established is a power dynamic," Kaepernick said in the Netflix show. "Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you. Searching for any defect that might affect your performance. No boundary respected. No dignity left intact."

Kapernick and former teammate Eric Reid reached a settlement with the NFL for less than $10 million after alleging that team owners colluded to keep them out of the league as punishment for their protests, while Kelly lost her NBC talk show after defending blackface Halloween costumes.
