YouTube deletes McCain 'Bomb Iran' video
YouTube has admitted to erroneously deleting the video of Sen. John McCain singing "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" but has vowed to restore it, according to a report by CNet's News.com.
"We appreciate the prompt feedback from our community regarding the McCain video," a YouTube spokesman was quoted as saying. "It was flagged by our users, we reviewed it and it was mistakenly removed. We have examined the situation and have since reinstated the video."
The report continued, "The spokesman refused to answer any other questions, such as when, exactly, the video was deleted or what procedures are in place to ensure that political candidates don't use YouTube's complaint procedure to squelch critics."
As RAW STORY reported previously, Sen. McCain sang the tune during a campaign stop in South Carolina. McCain was asked a question from an audience member about an attack on Iran, and began his response by singing "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of Beach Boys song "Barbara Ann." McCain has since defended his remark, telling critics to "lighten up."
