On Monday, in conversation with Zerlina Maxwell on Peacock, former Trump White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman reacted to the new reports that former President Donald Trump set up a "war room" at the Willard Hotel to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
"Donald Trump loves chaos," said Manigault Newman. "This is one individual who thrives on chaos. So I can imagine that as he's watching these images unfold in front of him of the events that happened on January 6th, leading up to what happened on January 6th, by the time they reached the Capitol, he's probably desiring more and more and more. He wanted to press it."
She then speculated that Trump was openly pushing behind the scenes for supporters to storm the Capitol.
"So as the report from the Rolling Stone today mentioned about all these meetings and the coordination, I can imagine that he was communicating with this command center and asking for more, for them to press forward, to go in, to 'Stop the Steal', is what they called the rally," she said. "And you can imagine, as he starts screaming, it gets really scary, and people just start to acquiesce to whatever he asks for. And I don't doubt that that's what happened with Donald Trump in the Oval on January the 6th."
