Dominique Jackson works as a digital journalist for Raw Story where she covers politics, culture, and breaking news. Jackson has experience in using social media platforms such as TweetDeck to uncover news stories and connect with sources. Previously, she worked as a general assignment reporter for Blavity, a venture-backed technology and media company that reaches more than 7-million millennials a month. In 2016, Dominique participated in the Independent Journal Review News Fellowship program, where she covered both the Presidential Inauguration and the Women's March in Washington D.C. Jackson covered the New England Patriots visit to the White House, the Washington D.C. missing teen girls crisis, and served as an assistant producer for the outlet’s Facebook Live political talk show. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and went through their media-training program during the 2016 national convention. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia College Chicago.During her undergraduate tenure, she became a recipient of the John Fischetti excellence in journalism scholarship, and worked tirelessly as a metro reporter to provide in-depth coverage of the city of Chicago. She aims to uncover untold narratives in the news, and work as a voice for the voiceless.
