Tornado touched down in N.J., National Weather Service confirms

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred brought a tornado to the Garden State early Thursday morning, officials said. A National Weather Service storm survey team confirmed Thursday evening that an EF-0 tornado touched down in Rockaway Township in Morris County. No other details were released as the service said it would likely have more information about the twister’s path on Friday.
