Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to announce his 2024 presidential campaign on Wednesday, and former President Donald Trump is bitterly raging at him for being "disloyal."

In a Truth Social post, Trump once again took credit for saving DeSantis' political career with his endorsement in 2018, while also suggesting that DeSantis shouldn't run for president with Trump still in the race.

"Look, Rob DeSanctimonious came to me asking for help," Trump wrote. "He was losing badly, by 31 points, to popular Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam. He was getting ready to drop out of the race - Ran a terrible campaign! Ron told me he had one last chance, my Support & Endorsement, which Putnam, and everyone else, wanted also. I gave it to Ron, and the race was over. In one day, he went from losing badly, to winning by a lot. With 3 LARGE TRUMP RALLIES, he WON THE GENERAL ELECTION in an upset. DISLOYAL!!!"

Polls show that DeSantis is the only significant challenger to Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, although FiveThirtyEight's polling averages still show Trump beating the Florida governor by more than 30 points.

Trump has spent weeks launching brutal attacks against DeSantis and even promoted a social media post that baselessly accused DeSantis of being a "groomer."
