Lawyer Bruce Castor made a bold claim during his defense of Donald Trump at Tuesday's Senate impeachment trial.
"You will not hear any member of the team representing former Pres. Trump say anything but in the strongest possible way denounce the violence of the rioters," Castor said.
The problem with his argument is that it is a view apparently not shared by Trump, who praised the rioters after the insurrection and continued to push the election fraud law that incited the sedition.
CNN's Jake Tapper reminded his Twitter followers of the damning tweet Trump sent after the attack.
