Trump won’t refuse to surrender if indicted in NYC, lawyer says: ‘There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago’

A parting decision by D.C. District Judge Beryl Howell to slap aside executive privilege claims from Donald Trump to keep former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows from testifying could be the most significant blow to date against the former president who is at the center of multiple criminal investigations.

According to attorneys Dennis Aftergut, Norm Eisen and noted legal authority Laurence Tribe, should Howell's ruling hold up she will have handed special counsel Jack Smith a gift that could end up being the key to indicting Trump for his actions surrounding the Jan. 6 insurrection.

A 12-year-old boy in Philadelphia was shot by his 10-year-old brother in an incident that police say was accidental, ABC6 reported.

"A 12-year-old Black male was found suffering a gunshot wound to the chest and arm. He was transported to Temple Hospital and placed in stable condition thankfully," said Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

Disgraced former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried on Tuesday was hit with a new superseding criminal indictment that alleged he engaged in a conspiracy to bribe at least one Chinese government official.

The newly filed indictment alleges that Bankman-Fried "directed and caused the transfer of at leats approximately $40 million in cryptocurrency intended for the benefit of one of more Chinese government officials" in exchange for unfreezing financial accounts that they needed to conduct business in the country.
