New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) new political action committee earned him extra attention of the wrong kind this week, NJ.com reported.
By itself, the name of Christie's group -- Leadership Matters for America -- seems innocuous enough. But Buzzfeed reporter Ilan Ben-Meir pointed out the unfortunate acronym created by its website:
Longtime Internet users -- including many on Twitter -- quickly seized on the group sharing an acronym with the phrase "Laughing My F*cking Ass Off":
As PolitickerNJ.com reported, New Jersey Democrats also piled on.
"Christie pretending he is qualified to be president kind of makes us want to laugh," the state Democratic Party Committee said in a statement. "Sort of like the acronym for his PAC does."
But the progressive bridge American Bridge 21st Century scored maybe the most solid hit of all with a picture of Christie alongside the pop duo that also goes by the name LMFAO:
American Bridge head Brad Woodhouse pointed out the oversight that led to Christie getting roasted online:
ABC News reported that Christie was also heckled by a Philadelphia radio station, WIP-FM, in retaliation for his vocal support of the Dallas Cowboys during this year's NFL playoffs.
The station released footage during an event on Friday of Christie falling off a chain at the beginning of an interview last June. That clip can be seen below.
