Angela Rye schools CNN panel on voter suppression: We know why GOP tactics target black people

During a CNN panel on Anderson Cooper 360 Friday night, political commentator Angela Rye made sure fellow panelists knew exactly what was going on with voter suppression in the United States.

Trump surrogate Kayleigh McEnany the "black vote is still down 10 percent in early voting" in North Carolina and alleged that voter suppression wasn't happening in Florida. Rye shot back, "Oh, there is. I'll tell you about it."

Rye stated that at least 114 measures had been introduced around the country in the previous years to suppress voters, through photo-ID laws, making absentee ballots harder to access, and cutting back early voting days.

"It is more of a problem here than voter fraud, which we only see happen 0.00034 percent of the time."

Conservative commentator Matt Schlapp got offended at his party being called racist over voter suppression tactics, stating that his party is the "Lincoln party." Rye corrects him, "You WERE the party of Abraham Lincoln."

Rye continues, "States like Alabama closing seven licensing offices where black people go to get their licenses to follow your voter ID law, and now those offices are closed. Why? Because those black people voted majority democratic."
