'Trash': Republican lawmaker swats away 'disgusting' report Trump offered her his bed

A new book alleges that Donald Trump offered Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) his bed as long as she didn't tell his wife during his candidacy, and Luna wasn't happy Monday that the story went public.

According to "Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power" by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt, Luna was aboard Trump's personal jet in the summer of 2023. She was pregnant at the time and feeling unwell.

“If you need a bed to lay down in, there's one here on the plane. If you feel sick and you need to lay there, you can lay on it,” Trump offered her.

“Just don't tell Melania. She doesn't like other women on my bed,” he reportedly joked.

Luna wrote on X that she seldom responds to "nasty headlines" because she doesn't "like giving trash credibility." In this case, however, Luna said she wanted to respond because the president was under attack.

"I was very pregnant and at the time experiencing pre-eclampsia symptoms, but was not diagnosed. As soon as [Trump] boarded the plane, being the gentleman and good person that he is, said if I did not feel well, I could use the back room. He did this in a respectful way and in front of my husband, of which we thanked him," said Luna confirming the story.

"He also assured me that they had a medical team on board in case anything happened and they were aware of how pregnant I was. This was the most compassionate thing that could’ve been done at the time. I find it disgusting that the author fails to recognize that," she continued.

"A few weeks later, I was induced because I did have pre-eclampsia," she said. Preeclampsia is when a pregnant person develops high blood pressure while pregnant.

"The author of this book never reached out to me for comment. Which means that this book is likely going to be a s--- hit piece. If people in POTUS orbit are talking to this author, they need to be cut off immediately. This is gross," Luna added.

Luna gave birth on Aug. 27, 2023.

In a May 2023 TIME Magazine exclusive, Luna revealed that the August Recess would coincide with her due date.

“Over the summer, we’re actually in session a lot,” she told TIME.

“Then obviously in August,” she adds whimsically, “I’ll be trying not to have a panic attack.”
