CNN anchor Jake Tapper expressed deep skepticism that a simple "bug" caused Apple iPhones to briefly display "Trump" when users dictated "racist," calling it a "fishy glitch."
Tapper made the comment Wednesday afternoon on his show, "The Lead."
"Apple is working to fix what they're calling a bug that briefly changes the word 'racist' to the word 'Trump' when you use the voice-to-text feature," he said. "I'm not making this up."
Tapper said his team of reporters tested the bug and confirmed the glitch. Tapper can be heard uttering a laugh as his team played a clip of the bug.

"What?" he exclaims, noting the odd bug comes amid recent "ups and downs" between Apple and Trump, with Trump praising CEO Tim Cook's AI investment on Monday, before lashing out at Cook on Wednesday over their diversity initiatives.
"Clare, I have to say, that is a very fishy glitch," Tapper said, introducing business writer Clare Duffy.
Apple has said the artificial intelligence system behind the dictation system can occasionally type an incorrect word with phonetic overlap, she said.
"Essentially a word that sounds similar to what a user is trying to say before quickly correcting," she said.
She added: "I think users can decide, viewers can decide how much phonetic overlap they think there is between 'racist' and 'Trump.'"
Tapper remained unpersuaded.
"I don't sense a lot of phonetic overlap but what do I know?" he concluded.
