On Sunday night, at least 10 people were hit by bullets at a parade in New Orleans when an apparent shootout erupted in the crowd.
The Associated Press reported that New Orleans Police Department spokesman Tyler Gamble confirmed that shot were fired when police were moving in to break up a large crowd around Bunny Friend Park in the city's Ninth Ward.
Ten victims were transported to hospitals by ambulance although more were reportedly taken in taxis and private vehicles.
Gamble said the investigation into the incident is just beginning and that no one is currently sure how seriously the injured were hurt in the shooting.
Apparently a group of parade-goers tangled with a group of individuals who were attempting to film a video.
The New York Daily News said that at least 300 people attended Sunday night's parade. The first reports of shots fired came in around 6 p.m., said police.
