Baltimore detective was killed with his own gun the day before he was set to testify in case against indicted officers

Slain Baltimore homicide detective Sean Suiter was gunned down the day prior to scheduled testimony before a federal grand jury investigating a squad of previously-indicted police officers, Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis revealed at a Wednesday press conference.

“The BPD and FBI do not possess any information that this incident ... is part of any conspiracy,” Commissioner Davis claimed.

"We know he was shot and killed with his own gun," Davis also revealed.

Davis noted there was also "evidence of a struggle between Det. Suiter and his killer."

Detective Suiter was an 18-year veteran of the force and left behind a wife and five children.

Authorities have offered a $215,000 reward. The suspect has been described as a black male who was wearing a black jacket with a white stripe.

"The fact that we have not yet made an arrest creates an environment for rumors to flourish," Davis admitted.
