Beto O'Rourke says he will serve all six years of Senate term and would not seek the presidency if he wins

Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) has been garnering national enthusiasm for his fiery speeches and passion for issues facing Americans. It's prompted many pundits to speculate that he would be a good candidate for the presidency, similar to former President Barack Obama.

But when asked about it during CNN's Texas Town Hall on Thursday, O'Rourke said he's not interested.

"The answer is no," he began. "But -- my wife is the only one to clap during that. Our children are 11, they're 10, and 7 years old. We've told them we're going to take these almost two years out of our life to run this race, and then we're devoted and committed to being a family again."

Host Dana Bash asked, "is that a definitive no?"

"It's a definitive no," he said.

"Like, never?" Bash pressed.

The Congressman paused. "Let me put it this way. I promise to you and most importantly to the people of Texas, I'll serve every single day of a six-year term in the United States Senate and I won't leave this state to run for president."
