Black infants in NJ are dying at an alarming rate. Leaders say it can be prevented.

Every year, nearly 500 babies in New Jersey die before they reach their first birthday for preventable reasons. Second-hand smoke, inadequate prenatal care, bed-sharing and opioid addiction cut many of their lives short -- factors often seen among families living in poverty, according to state health care experts.
