Boebert's race to 'squeeze some money out of the suckers' could backfire with voters tired of the 'crazy': analyst

According to MSNBC analyst Bryan Tyler Cohen, Rep. Lauren Boebert's drive to launch impeachment hearings aimed at President Joe Biden is designed solely as a public relations stunt that she will use for fundraising -- but it could blow up in her face.

Noting her headline-making squabble on the House floor with fellow MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Cohen wrote that the two battling over who has the inside track of leading the Biden impeachment charge exposed them for who they are and what their motives are.

As he wrote for MSNBC, the Colorado conservative and her colleague from Georgia want to be the first to send out a fundraising letter taking credit for the attack on the Democratic president in an effort to "squeeze some money out of the suckers on their mailing lists," which is their ultimate goal.

"Whoever gets the resolution on the floor first can then exploit that feat with the inevitable pitch to their supporters: I stood up for you and introduced articles of impeachment against socialist communist Marxist Joe Biden. Help me continue to hold him accountable by donating to my campaign today," he explained, adding, "all of this is ultimately a fundraising ploy."

However, he noted, Boebert may find her bid to raise cash on her anti-Biden campaign could come at a cost payable in the 2024 general election.

"The doomed mission to secure one could actually backfire — at last for Boebert. The Colorado lawmaker won her last election by just over 500 votes. And while I’m not here to offer any campaign advice, I’d humbly suggest that winning by 0.16% in a heavily Republican district is probably not a mandate to double down on the crazy," he wrote before adding, "Maybe doubling down will work — for now. But there could come a time when being known as the face of crude, unserious indecorum won’t play so well with the populace."
