Mike Johnson is fighting in Lauren Boebert's corner amid 'carpetbagging' outrage: report

House Speaker Mike Johnson is on board with Rep. Lauren Boebert’s seat flip that many have called “carpetbagging.”

Johnson endorsed her move, calling the Colorado firebrand a “relentless force for conservative governance.”

Boebert announced last week that she was abandoning her seat in Colorado’s 3rd district for a more securely conservative spot representing district 4. The move came as she faced a tough fight from a Democratic challenger.

The flip has been roundly condemned as “carpetbagging” and giving in to “the enemy.”

But Johnson is apparently fine with that, according to a statement seen by Business Insider.

The National Republican Campaign Committee also told Business Insider that it was endorsing her election campaign.

Many other Republicans — including some who call Boebert a friend — are less supportive.
