Republicans don't believe they can win without the Capitol rioters: CNN host

On CNN Saturday, anchor Michael Smerconish said the results of the vote to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her committee assignments for her endorsement of QAnon and killing Democrats, proves that Republicans have decided they can't do without the votes of the people who violently stormed the U.S. Capitol in January.

"Now, with more free time on her hands, Greene said that she will boost conservative candidates and former President Donald Trump's plans to oust so-called weak Republicans," said Smerconish. "If she's right, we could see more Greenes and fewer Cheneys."

"Bottom line is this: Republicans decided to keep everybody in the tent. Liz Cheney and Marjorie Taylor Greene," said Smerconish. "And instead of disassociating themselves from the fringe, they made a calculation that they can't win without the people who stormed the Capitol. You have to wonder, if while watching Greene's emboldened presser on Friday, maybe [House Minority Leader] Kevin McCarthy and company has buyer's remorse."
