A top negotiator in Palestinian peace talks derided Jared Kushner for his conflict-riddled role in the process.
Vanity Fair reported that Saeb Erekat, Palestine's chief negotiator, wrote in a transcribed version of his last meeting with Kushner about how dismissive the president's son-in-law and adviser was.
In what Erekat said was their 37th meeting, Kushner reportedly assumed a defensive posture when the negotiator told him how much the decision to move the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem will anger Arab heads of state and end the peace process.
"If you do this," the Palestinian told the president's adviser, "you will have disqualified yourself from any role in the peace process."
"Don’t threaten me," Kushner reportedly replied.
After Kushner later screamed at him for being "sarcastic," the Palestinian negotiator had had enough.
"Theodore Roosevelt once said the White House is an office of international morality," Erekat wrote. "And he’s right. But this White House needs giant statesmen, not real-estate agents."
