2-year-old fatally shoots his dad with rifle in St. Louis: report

Police in St. Louis believe a 2-year-old fatally shot his father in the back while handling a rifle.

The deceased is in his twenties, the St. Louis Post-Dispatchreports.

"It is the second fatal shooting in the neighborhood in a week. On Monday evening, police found Jerome Taylor, 50, in the 1400 block of Hickory Lane. He died at a hospital. Police said Taylor was shot after he went outside to investigate gunfire near an apartment complex," the newspaper reported.

While reporting on the shooting, which is being investigated by homicide detectives, KSDK-TV noted that residents of St. Louis can pick up free trigger locks which are available at local fire stations.
