Law clerk attacked by Trump in fraud trial launches bid to become judge

The court clerk for Judge Arthur Engoron who was hounded by Donald Trump during the fraud case against him is now running to be a judge herself.

Allison Greenfield is seeking a judgeship in the Manhattan Civil Courts.

Greenfield was the target of complaints by Trump and his legal team who claimed she whispered to the judge, passed him notes and was 'co-judging.'

The court issued a gag order against Trump that protected the court's staff after he published social medial posts attacking Greenfield and claims she was in a relationship with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY)

The former president was fined thousands of dollars for violating this gag order multiple times, which was a separate point of contention.

The news that she's seeking a judgeship coincided with the verdict in the fraud trial being announced. It hit Trump with more than $350 million in damages and banned him from conducting business in New York for three years.

The civil fraud trial, brought by state Attorney General Letitia James, alleged that Trump and his two adult sons systematically lied about the property values of Trump Organization assets in order to manipulate his tax liabilities and loan terms.
